A dog wants to write a story, and his little bird teacher guides him through the steps. A baby owl becomes the subject of his story, and readers are walked through the process in a somewhat contrived way. Not a particularly exciting read, but considering that it is at its basic level a how-to book, this story does provide a good, simple exposure to story-writing for kids who want to write their first story and are struggling.
