A is for Algonquin: An Ontario Alphabet

A is for Algonquin

Written by Lovenia Gorman

I don’t think there are too many books out there just on Ontario, but this is a good one. With beautiful, warm illustrations, this picture book teaches twenty-six A-Z facts from Ontario geography and history, through rhyme.

The poem itself, with the pictures, will capture the attention of 5-10 year olds, and for older listeners (or for yourself when you don’t “know the answers”), there is a factual sidebar on each page that gives more detailed information on what the page is illustrating.

I am sure most people who pick up the book for the first time, will learn something new about Ontario!
